How to get set up and start applying, plus common questions about fees and how payment works.

How to

01

Set up your profile

Sign up as a vendor, then fill out your business profile — bio, contact info, address, category, and tax ID if you have one. Upload a business photo (it shows up next to your name everywhere, including a market's roster once you're approved) and add a gallery photo or two of your setup. Add your products if you sell specific items — a name, description, type, and photo for each. Do it once; it's what every market sees when you apply.

02

Add your documents

From your dashboard's documents section, upload the things markets commonly ask for — insurance certificates, permits, ServSafe cards, whatever applies to your business. Upload once; when a market requires a document you already have on file, you don't have to find and re-upload it for every application.

03

Find and apply to a market

Use Browse Markets to search by city, county, or state. Open a market's page to see its fee, dates, application deadline, and which documents it requires before you commit. Add it to your cart, keep browsing and add more if you want to apply to several, then check out once — each market's fee is charged and paid out separately, but it's a single checkout for you.

04

Track your applications and pay a vendor fee

Your dashboard shows every application's status — pending, approved, or denied — updated automatically as markets decide, no need to check back manually. If a market you're approved for charges a separate vendor (booth) fee, a "Pay vendor fee" button appears next to that application; nothing is ever charged without you clicking it.

FAQ

Do I get my application fee back if I'm denied?

No — application fees are non-refundable, whether you're approved or denied. It works the same way a film festival submission fee does: it's what it costs to be considered, not a deposit on getting in.

What's the difference between the application fee and the vendor fee?

The application fee is what you pay to apply and be considered — every market charges at least $5 for this. Some markets also charge a separate vendor fee (sometimes called a booth fee) that only applies once you're approved — it's the cost of your actual space at the event. Not every market charges one; check a market's page before applying to see both.

How do I pay the vendor fee if I'm approved?

If a market charges one, you'll see a "Pay vendor fee" button on your dashboard next to that application once you're approved. It's a separate checkout from your application fee — nothing is charged automatically.

Can I apply to more than one market at a time?

Yes — add every market you want to apply to into your cart, then check out once. Each market's application fee is charged separately to that market, but you only go through checkout a single time.

What happens after I apply?

Your application shows as "Pending" on your dashboard until the market makes a decision. There's no set timeline — that's up to each market — but you'll see the status update to Approved or Denied here as soon as they decide.

Is my payment information safe?

Yes — payment is handled entirely by Stripe's own checkout page. Vendor Highway never sees or stores your card details.

What's Pro membership?

For $12/mo, Pro membership gives you 10% off every application fee and every vendor fee, automatically, at every market on Vendor Highway — no code needed. You can cancel anytime from your dashboard.

What are discount and waiver codes?

Some markets hand out their own codes — a percentage off their application fee, or a full waiver (you apply for free). Enter one in your cart next to that market's line item before checking out. A market's code and your Pro membership don't stack — you automatically get whichever is the better price.
